I blurt out
the secret I've hidden
for a short while-
silence enters
the air.
You hesitate
in answering-
I hear the doubt
in your voice.
My face reddens
as I blush
for making
a mistake-
I feel
the rejection.
You say yes,
but with a maybe-
maybe it's
a bad time,
maybe it's
too soon,
maybe it's
the wrong night,
or maybe you
already have plans.
