Little girl in a long, white dress
Along with a man looking his best.
"There's something I want to show you-
something I want to do."
He gives her a tiny diamond ring
She gives her heart and everything.
He laughs and she smiles
As the moment carries on for a while.
She thanked her God above
For the man she'd always love.

Tears of sorrow, tears of joy
An innocent girl and a growing boy
Both with wants- both seek needs
Neither knowing where life leads
Down the road.

Little woman on her porch with a man
Holding his uniformed hat in his hand.
"There's something I need to tell you-
something I need to do.
I'm sorry, ma'am, but he's died,
We found his body this very night."
Painful feelings seem to stick
Even more when their tiny boy kicks.
The man she loved is now gone
When another is expected not too long.

Little old lady laying in bed
Cloud and rainbow mem'ries in her head.
"There's something I want to tell you-
something I need to do.
Your daddy and I always loved you
but my life down here is through."
He sat nearby and watched his mama go
The woman his daughter may never know.
He kisses her hand and turns around
To pick her granddaughter off the ground.
