You stand there with a smirk,
Love in your eyes but black in your heart
Arms outstretched to embrace
Like a pitchfork reaching a bundle of hay.
You don't realize the burning, enraged anger inside me;
similar feelings that you used to give to me but are
now reflecting back at you,
When will you go away?
You comment on my looks as if my jeans are a gown
I wish I could throw my fist into your face-
You're a sly fox in your mind, a hounding dog in mine.
My stride slows and stops short as you shout
My heart, now ragged and torn, is wrenched once more.
You smell of ash from the black tar of cigarettes.
You miscount blessings like chicks unhatched-
Leave! You no longer exist in my life...
And take this black fury in my heart with you.
