Title:   Basic Vegetarian Gravy
Category:   Sauces & Gravies - Clean (Only natural/organic ingredients), Vegetarian
2 T vegan margarine- like Earth Balance
1 onion- diced
2 T whole wheat pastry flour
1 t garlic salt
2 T cornstarch
1 1/2 c vegetable broth
2 T soy sauce
1 T nutritional yeast- optional
Directions:   Heat the margarine over medium heat in a large skillet and saute the onion for 2 minutes. Add the flour and garlic salt and saute for 5 more minutes. Add the vegetable broth and cornstarch, stirring to mix the cornstarch well. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer, stirring frequently to make sure no clumps are formed. Add the nutritional yeast and soy sauce and reduce heat. Cook for one more minute, stirring.
