3 c whole wheat pastry flour
1/4 c raw sugar or other sweetener
1 t sea salt
2/3 c vegan maragarine- like Earth Balance
1/4 to 1/3 c cold filtered water
|Directions:||In a large bowl, combine whole wheat pastry flour, sugar and sea salt; stir to combine. Using a pastry blender, two knives or your fingertips, cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Drizzle in cold water, a little at a time, mixing lightly. Add additional water as needed until dough just starts to hold together. Form dough into a ball, cover with plastic wrap, ad chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Place chilled dough between 2 pieces of parchment paper to help rolling out and transferring to pans. Bake as directed in your recipe. Use as pastry for both sweet and savory pies, turnovers and tarts.
