Title:   Brown Gravy

2 c water or vegetable stock
1 T cashews
1 T onion powder
1/2 t garlic granules or powder
2 T cornstarch
1/2 t thyme
1/4 t black pepper
2 to 3 T reduced-sodium soy sauce
Directions:   Combine all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth, 2 to 3 minutes. Transfer to a saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
Makes:   about 2 cups
