Title:   Savory Brown Gravy

1/4 c arrowroot or cornstarch
1/3 c low-sodium tamari
3 c vegetable broth or water
1 t garlic powder
1/4 c sesame tahini
Directions:   Combine arrowroot or cornstarch and tamari in a medium saucepan. Mix well to make a smooth, thin paste. Gradually whisk in broth or water and garlic powder. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring constantly with a wire whisk until gravy thickens and comes to a boil. Remove from heat and beat in tahini using the wire whisk. Serve at once.

This makes a very thick gravy. If you prefer a thinner consistency gradually beat in a little more water, about 1 or 2 t at a time, until it is the consistency you desire.
Makes:   about 3 cups
