Title:   Mandarin Orange Sauce

1 c clean orange juice
1/2 c clean apple juice
3 T cornstarch
1 t almond extract
1 c fresh or canned mandarin orange slices in juice
1/4 c slivered almonds- toasted
Directions:   In a small saucepan combine juices. Whisk in cornstarch. Slowly heat and stir until sauce thickens to a pudding-like consistency. Whisk in almond extract. Remove from heat and allow to cool before topping cake. Garnish with mandarin orange slices and almonds.
Makes:   2 cups
