Title:   Your Own Tomato Ketchup

From:   Vegetarian Barbecue
4 lbs. ripe tomatoes- cored and quartered
1 pound apples- cored and quartered
3 large onions- peeled and chopped
1 1/2 c distilled white vinegar
3/4 c honey
1 1/2 T sea salt
1 t cloves
1/2 t freshly ground black pepper
3/4 t allspice
Directions:   Place all ingredients in an 8- to 10-quart stockpot. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 3 hours, stirring frequently. Strain mixture through a sieve or cool it enough to put it through a food processor. Reheat to boiling and pour into sterilized jars and seal. Turn jars upside down for 10 minutes to help lids seal.
Makes:   4 to 5 pints
