Title:   MacGregor Tehachapi Apple Crunch

10 c golden delicious or red rome apples- pared, cored and sliced
3 T sugar
1 1/2 t cinnamon
1 c walnuts
1 pckg. yellow cake mix
1/2 c butter- melted
Directions:   Combine apples, cinnamon and sugar in a large bowl. Sprinkle 1/4 c of dry cake mix on the top and toss until apples are evenly coated. Spoon into buttered 9x13-inch baking pan and cover. Bake in 350F oven 30 minutes. Remove. Combine cake mix and walnuts in a bowl. Drizzle melted butter on top and toss until it forms large crumbs. Sprinkle evenly over partly cooked apple mixture. Bake 30 minutes longer until puffed and golden. Cool slightly and serve with whipped cream.
