Title:   Gingerbread Brownies

1 1/2 c whole wheat pastry flour
1/2 c honey
1/4 c unsweetened cocoa powder
1 t ground ginger
1 t ground cinnamon
1/2 t baking soda
1/2 t ground cloves
1/2 c unsweetened applesauce
1/3 c molasses
2 egg replacers/substitutes
Powdered sugar- optional
Directions:   Combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, ginger, cinnamon, baking soda and cloves in a large mixing bowl. In a separate bowl, combine melted butter or margarine, molasses and eggs. Add to flour mixture; stir until combined. Do not beat (the batter will be thick). Spread batter in a greased 9x13-inch baking pan. Bake in a 350F oven for 20 minutes. Do not overbake. Cool on wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar sprinkled through a paper doily, if desired for an extra treat. Cut into squares.
