Title:   MacGregor Butter Pecan Tartlets

1/2 c sugar
1 t almond extract
1/2 c butter- softened
1 3/4 c flour
1 c powdered sugar
1/3 c dark corn syrup
1/2 c butter
1 c chopped pecans
Directions:   Heat oven to 400F. In large mixing bowl combine the first 4 ingredients. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until mixture is crumbly- about 2 or 3 minutes. Press 1 T mixture into cups of mini-muffin pans to form 36 shells. Bake 7 to 10 minutes or until very lightly brown. Remove from oven, reduce temperature to 350F.

Meanwhile, in a 2 quart saucepan combine remaining 4 ingredients except pecans. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until mxiture comes to a full boil- about 4 or 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in pecans. Spoon mixture into baked shells. Bake for 5 minutes. Cool.
