Ingredients: |
2 c dried pinto beans
1 medium onion- chopped
3 cloves garlic- minced
1/4 c oil of choice
1 1/2 t sea salt
1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
1 1/2 t chili powder
1/4 t ground cumin

Directions: | Cover beans with hot tap water and soak overnight. Next morning drain beans and place them in a large pot; cover with hot water. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Lower heat and cook slowly, loosely covered, about 3 hours or until beans are tender and a rich sauce is formed. Add more water if needed. Beans shouldn't be too dry or too soupy. |
